Cognitive Flexibility, Resilience and Quality of Life in Young Adults
Abstract
The main objective of this study is to look into how cognitive flexibility, resilience and quality of life in young adults plays important role in their lives. A sample of 300 young adults including males and females from different universities of Lahore. The study was conducted through by using random sampling technique. The Brief Resilience Scale (Smith, B. et al., 2008), Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (Dennis, et al., 2010.The World Health Organization Quality of Life (S.M. Skevington et al., 2004) were used as assessment measures. Findings of the study revealed that there will be significant positive relationship between Cognitive flexibility, resilience and quality of life. Results indicated that resilience mediates the relationship between CF and QOL among males and females. Cognitive Flexibility among male and female participants while there were observed no significant differences on Resilience among male and female participants. Further, results indicated that there were significant differences on QOL and all four dimensions of QOL including Physical Health, Psychological, Social Relationships and Environment between male and female participants. Multivariate investigates female main and interaction effect of socioeconomic status and Education on Cognitive Flexibility, Resilience and Quality of Life showed insignificant. the main effect of Education on Quality of Life was significant while there were observed no significant differences on socioeconomic, Resilience and cognitive flexibility. The interaction between Education and Socioeconomic status on Resilience was significant while there were observed no significant differences on Cognitive Flexibility and Quality of Life among males.
